As a soloist and collaborator, Jared has participated in the premieres of dozens of compositions for solo percussion, chamber ensemble, and symphonic orchestra. Notable events and venues include the Britt Music and Arts Festival, Omaha Under the Radar Music Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival Daedalus Project, SFJazz John Luther Adams Festival, the Center for New Music (SF), the Teatro Principal de Guanajuato, the Stanford Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, and Transplanted Roots: Percussion Research Symposium. His compositions have enjoyed premieres in the US and Mexico.
An avid proponent of all contemporary art, Jared directed the Oregon Fringe Festival from 2017 to 2020. The OFF commissioned several visual artists and composers during his tenure and organized the premieres of over 30 theatrical works by emerging playwrights.
Jared earned Music Performance degrees from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (BM) and Southern Oregon University (MM), where he previously served on the Music faculty. He currently resides in Southern California, where he teaches and directs the Percussion Ensemble at Mater Dei High School while concurrently working in Artistic Planning and Operations at Pacific Symphony.
